I couldn’t answer as they wished. It’s not that my kids never do anything wrong, it’s just that, in our household, discipline is proactive, not reactive. We don’t punish them for doing wrong. We prepare them to do right.
I forgot: This place is amazing.
How quickly amazing can become ordinary, and the little things that once inspired us and brought awe to our faces can be missed.

There’s still a pile of rocks in my front yard, right next to my driveway, where I unloaded them from the van after I shared this message a few weeks ago. Every time I pull in, I think I should put those rocks away. But I haven’t.
