I had a few minutes today, so I picked up my copy of A Parent’s Guide to Understanding Teenage Guys. It’s only about 50 pages, so this is one of those books you can really get through in a single sitting, and that’s what I did.
Mark Oestreicher and Brock Morgan are both master storytellers, and they have brought together stories from their own teenage years with decades of youth ministry experience to provide practical insight for parents of teenagers to help guide them through.
They say, “Rather than go into detail on unhealthy approaches to parenting, we’re going to use a few pages to unpack some healthy ways to approach those years of the adolescent journey.” That’s exactly what they do.
This is a worthwhile read, and part of a complete series from Simply Youth Ministry designed to help parents understand their teenage kids’ complicated brains.
